Bad Königshofen - Craftsmen's Market (2 days per year)
Arts and crafts have a long tradition in the Grabfeld. Even the Celts, who settled the Gleichberge mountains in the Iron Age, made excellent pottery. Interactive exhibitions in the region, for example in the Archaeology Museum and in the Museum for Border Crossers in the Schranne in Bad Königshofen, tell of this. Today, many of the villages in the Rhön Grabfeld area, such as Haina, Römhild and Sülzdorf, can look back on a centuries-old tradition of pottery. Accordingly, this art is anchored in the local cultural scene with the many craft workshops, the ceramics market or the international ceramics symposium. That the artistic talent in the Grabfeld extends over a wide range of crafts becomes clear at the annual North Bavarian Craftsmen's Market in Bad Königshofen. From toys made of wood, clothing for young and old made of felt or colorful fabrics, all kinds of leather goods to decorative items for home and garden made of metal, glass or paper - the variety is great. In addition to the offer of the artisans, also the above-mentioned museums open their doors to the visitors of the market and numerous culinary delights await you at stands of the local gastronomy and direct marketers.
