Advent in Bayreuth: Christkindlesmarkt, Winter Town and lots of lights.

During the Advent weeks, Bayreuth is not just illuminated by any light: The city has a 7-kilometer-long string of lights illuminating the old town and the Christmas market with a welcoming glow.

The “Christkindlesmarkt” is located between the Stadtparkett and the von-Römer-Strasse. There are about 50 stands offering lovely Christmas treats and many great ideas for Christmas presents. The Christmas spirit is alive and well here; a feeling that gets reinforced by the visit of the Bayreuth Christ Child in this beautiful setting.

During the Christmas market, numerous performances are taking place on the activity stage. A daily changing music program provides for variety. Christmas shopping is not neglected either: around 400 specialist stores in the pedestrian zone and in the neighboring Rotmain-Center ensure a perfectly rounded shopping experience. And the “Culinary Winter Town” is the gathering place for Bayreuth's connoisseurs.
