Würzburg is a great Christmas-time destination: Enjoy the Christmas market on Market Square, the Artisan Christmas market, guided tours and winter magic.

The highlight at the end of the year is the Christmas market on the Market Square. In front of the historical Marienkapelle Chapel and the “Falkenhaus,” more than 100 vendors offer their goods. The Artisan Christmas market is located in the courtyard of the historical town hall. Here, artists show off their trades and you can find everything from paintings to porcelain to jewelry.

Aside from Christmas markets, Würzburg in Advent also offers theater productions at the Mainfranken Theater and in private venues throughout town. Furthermore, there are concerts at the Residenz Castle, at museums, and in churches. Other activities include exhibits as well as wine tastings and cellar tours at all of the Würzburg wine estates.
