Sommerach Christmas Winter Celebrations

The grapes are hibernating while the wine is alive inside the barrels. Advent is a quiet time in Sommerach and we use it to contemplate the year’s blessings. During the Sommerach Christmas Winter Celebration a number of festively decorated local wineries open their doors to visitors. Sommerach has been awarded the gold medal at the European Entente Florale competition.
Enjoy winter fun on Saturday and Sunday: Follow the “star path” to 20 locations that offer shelter, an open door, towers, and home-made hot-mulled wine. Get warm next to the wood stove and soak in the Sommerach Christmas cheer. Wine connoisseurs can deepen their knowledge at cellar tours, and ask the winegrowers questions. Artists and artisans showcase their work, the old school building in the middle of town is illuminated with 23 “star windows” and the 24th star can be found at the Parrish church.
